Por la primera fecha de los torneos oficiales de inferiores de AFA, Banfield se midió en las categorías mayores con Aldosivi en Mar del Plata. Ganaron la 4ta. y la 6ta.e igualó la 5ta.
La cuarta división, conducida por Eduardo Masotto, alcanzó la victoria con un gol del lateral derecho Gerardo Maciel, ampliando la cifra el defensor-mediocampista Alejandro Delfino, mediante un tiro penal.
La quinta división, a cargo de Miguel Robinson Hernández, igualó 1-1. Abrió la cuenta el marplatense Mariano Nahuel Yeri, quien luego se retiró expulsado. Posteriormente igualó Matías Aparicio para el local.
Por su parte, la sexta división, con la presentación de su entrenador Alberto Luongo, no tuvo inconvenientes para vencer a los locales por 3-0, a pesar de sufrir la expulsión de Rodríguez a minutos de empezar el primer tiempo.
Con 10 hombres, Banfield jugó en terreno rival y buscó continuamente el gol, obteniendo los tantos por Cristian Molina, quien erró un tiro penal, pero convirtió en el rebote, el tandilense Juan García y Cripriano Treppo, quien ingresó en el segundo tiempo.
Por la próxima fecha, Banfield recibirá con las categorías grandes a Nueva Chicago, mientras que las chicas harán su presentación jugando de visitantes.

BANFIELD, con sus virtudes y con sus muchos defectos, pero se trataba de mi Club. Club del cual soy socio vitalicio hace 20 años y cumplí más de 50 años de socio. En ese KIOSCO: Pusieron mucho esfuerzo y dedicación personas, que tuve el gusto de conocer, no se si Ud. tuvo esa oportunidad, como Don Florencio Sola (Lencho), Valentín Suárez, El (Gordo) Fani, Pedro Chasson, el Escribano Villar (que me sorprendió verlo aceptar todo lo que sucedió en esta asamblea dentro de Su Club) y muchos otros que seria muy tedioso nombrar y por eso me disculpo. En ese KIOSCO: _ No se aprobaban Balances sin un debate previo realizado con orden y con seriedad. _ No se llamaba a elecciones sin previamente llamar a Asamblea que aprobara no solo el Balance sino también la gestión porque si esa gestión no era aprobada se estaba a tiempo de hacerse responsable. _ Se respetaban los Estatutos llamando a Asamblea dentro de los plazos establecidos (90 días) _ No se demoraba 9 (nueve) meses en someter a consideración de los Socios un Balance duramente cuestionado por todos. _ No se presentaba a consideración de la Comisión Directiva un balance con un ERROR de aproximadamente $ 5.000.000.- Si existía una deuda de esa magnitud se informaba quien era el acreedor, no como ocurrió ayer en que todos los Socios nos retiramos sin saber a quien se le debe esa suma muy importante por cierto _ No se cometían ERRORES DE COMUNICACIÓN como los que se incurrieron en el caso del jugador L.Civelli. Ese KIOSCO: _ Pudo construir un ESTADIO que era motivo de orgullo para la época. _ Pudo construir una SEDE SOCIAL PROPIA Ese KIOSCO: _ No tuvo la suerte de contar con los Recursos millonarios en dólares por la venta de jugadores que hoy brinda un Mercado Internacional para TODOS los clubes del fútbol argentino. En la cláusula Séptima define que la opción de compra por el 50 % restante del jugador no la tiene Banfield, pero sí está obligado a vender si es que durante el primer año hay una oferta que supere los u$s 4.000.000, o si durante el segundo año aparece una oferta por u$s 5.000.000. Por esta cláusula, hasta lanus podría comprar a Bertolo y Banfield debería aceptar. Ahora, la interferencia de Torneos y Competencias no es del ciento por ciento, pero casi: el encargado de armar el fixture original es Jorge Antico, el gerente operativo de la empresa que, sin haber ganado ninguna licitación, ya se aseguró hace varios años la televisación de los partidos del fútbol argentino hasta 2014 (en realidad, las firmas TSC y TRISA son quienes tienen los derechos, y ambas pertenecen el 50% al Grupo Clarín y el otro 50% a Torneos y Competencias.
Antico (un ex allegado al Club Lanús) es hombre de absoluta confianza de Grondona. Y fue el mismo presidente de la AFA quien lo llevó a Torneos y Competencias. Para organizar los diez partidos que tendrá cada una de las diecinueve fechas que –de no mediar postergaciones– se jugarán a partir de agosto, Antico hizo un organigrama previo y después se lo mostró a los clubes y a la Subsef (Subsecretaría de Seguridad en Espectáculos Futbolísticos).
Después, la AFA suele cuidar a sus clubes. “Por ejemplo, si un club tiene elecciones a finales del torneo, ese equipo tendrá cierta protección al no jugar determinada cantidad de clásicos como visitantes”, explicó a Crítica de la Argentina una fuente de TyC.
La televisión ya sabe que, por motivos de seguridad, los Boca-River tienen que jugarse a mitad de campeonato. Y para la próxima temporada ya se diagramó, por ejemplo, que los dos partidos Estudiantes-Gimnasia se jugarán en una cancha neutral, la de Racing, para evitar conflictos. Y por supuesto, jamás puede haber dos clásicos una misma fecha: sería contraproducente para el negocio de la televisión.
Después, con el correr del partido, será tiempo de diagramar cada fecha. Sin embargo, la situación sería otra.

El balance aprobado en abril revela un pasivo de $ 35.011.792,66, de los cuales $ 33.856.236,68 corresponden al pasivo corriente y el resto al no corriente. Además, la cuenta del club con la AFA registra un rojo de $ 9.853.669,11. Como Carlos Portell, presidente del club del sur bonaerense, revista también como tesorero de la entidad presidida por Julio Grondona, el número equivale a decir que Portell le debe casi 10 millones de pesos... a Portell.
"Banfield tiene deudas como todos los clubes", reconocieron ayer en el departamento de prensa de la institución. Y aceptaron el error de haber informado a este diario hace unos días que Banfield no tenía pasivo alguno.
Pese a los $ 19.681.643,92 de superávit que arrojó el último balance, los números que reflejan la situación patrimonial de Banfield no son tan optimistas. El club aumentó su pasivo en un 116% con respecto al ejercicio anterior, ya que según el balance de la temporada 2006/07, el rojo era de $ 16.214.673.
